SCMS Rebels take on Elbert Co., tonight

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels football team won their season opener last Thursday at Rabun County.

The Rebels won 26 to 20 in a close game.  Stephens County’s TJ Everett got the Rebels on the scoreboard first with a 73-yard run.

The Rebels would score again in the first half with a 60-yard touchdown run by Kamrion Lacy.

The halftime time score was Stephens County 12, Rabun County 7.

After Rabun Co. scored early in the third quarter, Lacy would return the following kickoff 93 yards for a touchdown.

Later in the fourth quarter, Devan Turpin would return an interception for a touchdown to seal the win.

In a game that was originally scheduled for Saturday, Stephens County will be back in action today (Thursday, Sept. 6) against Elbert County.

Kickoff will be at 5:30 from the high school field.
