SCMS Rebels Football team beat Hart County, 44-14

After having their original season opener postponed, the Stephens County Middle School Rebels played their first football game of the season last Thursday at Hart County and won, 44 to 14.

Javin Gordan led the Rebels on the ground with 165 yards and scored all but one of their touchdowns.  Semaj Walker added 85 rushing yards.

The Rebels had 377 total yards against Hart County with Tripp Underwood throwing for 105.

Defensively, Davon Swinton had an interception return for a touchdown.  German Hernandez had 5 solo tackles; Simon Barker had 3 solo tackles and a quarterback sack; and Keaton Maxwell and Shelton Maynard each had quarterback sacks.

The Stephens County-Franklin County game scheduled for this Thursday has been moved to Wednesday at 6 P.M. due to potential inclement weather for homecoming.

If the Rebels win, it will mark the 225thvictory in the history of Stephens County Middle School football.
