SCMS Boys Win-Girls Fall vs. Franklin

The Stephens County Middle School 7th grade boys basketball team improved to 10-0 on Friday with a 38-31 home win over Franklin County Middle School.

Andrew Keown had a game high 20 points, including four 3-pointers. The Rebels also got 8 points from Semaj Walker, Javin Gordon had 5, Tripp Underwood 3, and 2 from Jet Black.

The Stephens County 8th grade boys moved to 7-3 on the season with a 39-33 win over Franklin County. Aaron Scott led the 8th grade Rebels with 17 points, Devin Cobb was also in double figures with 10 points. SCMS also got 6 points from Nuri Winters and 4 from Ethan Smith in the win.

The SCMS 8th grade girls fell to Franklin County 33-20. Aurora Elrod scored 6 points to lead the Lady Rebels, Jaziya Harbin added 5, Kaitlyn Cangilosi 4, and Tytiunna Tukes and Abby Chapman had 2 each. The 8th grade Lady Rebels are now 5-5 on the season.

The SCMS 7th grade girls fell to Franklin County 32-18. Lanesia Verdell led the Lady Rebels with 9 points, Carson Stowe had 5 points, and Fayeth Ivester had 4. The 7th grade Lady Rebels are now 2-8 this season.

All 4 teams are in action today with the boys teams traveling to Habersham, and the girls teams hosting Habersham at Stephens County Middle School.
