SCMS 8th Grade Gets Comeback Victory

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels 8th grade boys trailed in most of the game with Rabun County, but took the lead with two minutes to go and held on for a 49-45 victory.

Javin Gordon led the Rebels with 18 points, Tripp Underwood and Jet Black scored 9 each, Andrew Keown had 8, and both Everett Rudeseal and Brock Tankersley had 2 points.

The 8th grade Rebels improve to 2-1 on the season.

Things did not go as well for the Rebels other three teams as Rabun County picked up wins in all three games.

The Lady Rebels 8th grade team fell to Rabun County 39-25. Fayeth Ivester led SCMS with 17 points, Carson Stowe had 6 points, and Maddison McGee and Blair Huddleston had 1 each.

The Lady Rebels 8th grade girls are now 0-4.

The Lady Rebels 7th grade also fell to 0-4 on the season losing to Rabun 42-10.

The 7th grade Lady Rebels were led in scoring by Nyleigh Hutto with 4 points, Daisy Barker and Kameiera Perry had 2 points each, and Audreyonna Walker and Aviyonia Winkfield had 1 point each.

The Rebels 7th grade boys lost to Rabun 57-34. Zykemion Durham led the 7th grade Rebels with 14 points and Davon Swinton was also in double figures with 11. The Rebels also got 4 points from Kymani Colbert, Ashton Winters scored 3, and Colsen Ivey had 2.

The 7th grade Rebels boys are now 0-3.

SCMS returns to action tonight as the teams will face Hart County Middle School.
