SCHS Tennis Teams Chalk Up Wins in Regular Season Finale

Yesterday’s Stephens County High School Indians baseball game on the road against Hart County was rescheduled due to the rain. The game will take place today, with first pitch at 5:55 and airtime on WNEG radio at 5:45 p.m.

In other sports news, the SCHS tennis teams won their regular season finale at Monroe Area Monday by sweeping the contests from the Purple Hurricanes.  

The Indians won by a match score of 4-1. The boys won 2 singles matches and also took both doubles events.  With this win, the boys team clinched the #3 seed for the region tournament in early April. The Indians have an overall record of 9-7 and finish the region regular season at 5-5.

The Lady Indians nipped Monroe by a match score of 3-2.  The girls won #2 singles and swept both doubles contests. With this win, the Lady Indians clinch the #2 seed spot in the region tourney.  The girls team has an overall season record of 13-3 and 7-3 in region matchplay.
