SCHS Tennis Opens Season Today

The Stephens County High School Indians and Lady Indians tennis teams will open their 2024 season at home today, January 22, against East Hall.  Matches will begin at 6 p.m. at the Stephens County High School Tennis Complex.

Last season the Indian boys finished with a record of 9-7 while the Lady Indians finished with a record of 10-7. Both teams made it to the 1st round of the State Tournament.

Donny Williams is returning as the head coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams, taking over for Thomas Flowers.  Donny’s wife, Debby, will serve as assistant coach.  Both Donny and Debby retired as high school tennis coaches after the 2021 season. Donny will be beginning his 17th year of coaching varsity tennis, making him the longest tenured tennis coach at Stephens County.  Debby will be beginning her fifth season of coaching tennis at SCHS.
