SCHS Softball Sweeps Saturday Games

The Stephens County High School Lady Indians Varsity softball team won both of its games this past Saturday.

Taking the first game 3-1 over Banks County, Emma Whitfield pitched a complete game for the win allowing 3 hits and 1 unearned run while striking out 7.

The Lady Indians were led at the plate against Banks County by Natalie Morgan, who had a double and an RBI. Ashton Ayers and Karly Smith each had a single with an RBI.

In the second game, the Lady Indians defeated the Lady Bulldogs of Hart County, 13-6.

Again, Emma Whitfield pitched a hard fought complete game for the win. Whitfield allowed 6 runs on 9 hits and struck out 7.

At the plate the Indians were led by Bryn Roberts’ 2 for 2 effort with an RBI, while Natalie Morgan went 2 for 4 with 2 RBI’s and Ivey Andrews went 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Also, Karly Smith added a three-run homerun in the fifth inning to break open the game.

The Lady Indians play again today at home against Habersham Central in a non-region double header.

The first game starts at 4:30 p.m.
