SCHS Senior My’Angel Carter signs to play basketball at Regent University
A Stephens County Lady Indian will be taking her basketball skills to the next level.
My’Angel Carter, daughter of Lakeyta Rousey and Goddaughter of Varnessa Marshall, held a signing ceremony Monday at the high school to announce that she will be attending Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, this fall.
My’Angel was a member of the Lady Indians varsity basketball squad for 3 years.
She also was a member of the Lady Indians volleyball team and track team.
As a member of the 4 by 100 and 4 by 200 relay teams, she will compete this week at the state track meet in Albany.
Even though My’Angel excelled in all 3 sports in high school, she decided to play basketball in college.
My’Angel told us why she decided to attend Regent University:
“When I visited Regent, it was just a beautiful campus and the people were just lovely and that persuaded me to go there. The school is very well put together and they go all-in on academics and I really like that about them,” she said.
My’Angel plans to major in psychology while attending Regent University, a member of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
