SCH’s Second Dose COVID Vaccine is today

Stephens County Hospital’s second COVID Vaccine Drive-Through is being held today.

Only those who received a vaccine at the January 13 clinic will be allowed at the follow-up drive-through clinic.

However, unlike the first clinic, the second clinic will have patients coming through at specific times based on alphabetized last names.

Last names beginning with A-C will be vaccinated from 12:00-12:30, then D-F from 12:30-1:00, G-I from 1:00-1:30, J-L from 1:30-2:00, M-O from 2:00-2:30, P-S from 2:30-3:00, T-V from 3:00-3:30, and W-Z from 3:30-4:00.

Hospital staff are advising residents coming for their second dose not to arrive early.

According to Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester, there were 524 individuals to come through for the first dose of the vaccine.

Hester says registration and triage will move much quicker with their second clinic, since they are only administering second round doses.

All traffic will enter on Hansen Road in the same manner as the last drive through.

Please arrive with your ID, the vaccine card you were given at the first drive-through, and your insurance card.

Again, those who received the vaccine on Wednesday, January 13, will need to return to the hospital today, February 3, to receive their second dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

During the Hospital’s first Drive-Through Vaccination Clinic, individuals falling into Phase 1a, which included Stephens County residents age 65 and older, as well as their at-home caregivers, Toccoa-Stephens County First Responders, including law enforcement, Fire, and 911 dispatchers; and Toccoa-Stephens County Healthcare workers, were able to get the vaccine at no cost.
