SCH’s Love Light honors the late Joyce Kellar

Stephens County Hospital holds annual event to start the holiday season.

Last night was the annual Love Light program at Stephens County Hospital and the lighting of the Love Light tree.

Interim Chief Executive Officer Roger Forgey stood before a large crowd and thanked the Auxiliary for its commitment to serving SCH.

This year’s Love Light Ceremony was in memory of a Joyce Kellar, who was a beloved Auxilian who dedicated her time and life to helping others.

Stephens County Hospital Foundation Director Pamela Jones told WNEG News that the auxiliary had raised $40,296 for the purchase of equipment for the Stephens County Hospital.

Love Light Committee member Joyce Gregory, announced the equipment that was purchased:

For the Emergency Medical Services, six laptop computers and six portable printers, two recliners and a smart TV.

For Surgical Services, an Inspektor GI Flexible Scope.

For the Stephens County Hospital Physician Group Dr. Katie McKinney was awarded an Ultra Sound Machine with Printer. Mckinney explained that because she is still relatively new, she was surprised she received what she had requested.

The New Impressions Maternal Services, received an AV 400 Vein Illuminator and digital camera with printer.

For Case Management, Mary Ann Johnson received Patient Care Kits.

In the Emergency Department, a Handheld Oximeter with Finger Sensor was awarded.

For the Human Resources department, a scanner was received.

And the Radiology Department received a CT Slicker and Straps.

This year, the Auxiliary met all the departments’ needs that requested items.
