SCHS Indians will face Franklin County tonight in high school football

The Stephens County Indians will make a short road trip tonight as they travel to Carnesville to play the Franklin County Lions in a region contest.

Last Thursday, the Indians kicked a field goal with 1 second left to defeat Monroe Area, 27 to 24, and improve their record to 5 & 1 overall and 1 & 0 in Region 8-AAA.

Franklin County lost at Hart County last Thursday, 49 to 3.  The Lions are still looking for their first win of the season after 6 games.  Kickoff tonight will be at 7:30.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio program, Stephens County’s Defensive Coordinator, Thomas Flowers, says tonight’s game at Franklin County is a rivalry game and the Lions will play hard.

In other Region 8-AAA games tonight:  Hart County will travel to Oconee County, and Hebron Christian will host Monroe Area.

Looking elsewhere around the area this evening, Madison County plays at North Hall, East Hall travels to Walnut Grove, Banks County will host Union County, East Jackson will host Fellowship Christian, White County will host Wesleyan, Rabun County will play at St. Francis, and Commerce is on the road at Social Circle.

Habersham Central has the night off.

In J-V football action, Stephens County improved to 4-0 on the season with a 21-10 win over Rabun County at home last night.  The J-V football team will play at home again next Thursday against Elbert County.
