SCHS Indians traveling down to Monroe tonight for high school football

The Stephens County Indians Varsity football team will travel down to Monroe tonight to open the region portion of their schedule as they take on the Monroe Area Purple Hurricanes.

The game was originally scheduled for Friday night, but was moved up to tonight due to the forecast of bad weather.

Both teams had last Friday night off.

The Indians enter the game with a record of 4 & 1 after their 53 to 14 win over White County at home on September 16th.

Monroe Area defeated Morgan County, 37 to 13, on September 16th to improve their record at 2 & 3 on the season.

Last year, Monroe defeated Stephens County at home, 34 to 24.  Kickoff tonight will be at 7:30.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio program, Indians offensive line coach, Cody Honeycutt, said since they did not have a game last Friday due to the open date on the schedule, playing a day earlier tonight rather than Friday night was not a big adjustment for the team.

93.1 FM & AM-630 WNEG will begin our coverage tonight with the Indian Road Show at 6:30, followed by Coach’s Corner at 7, and pre-game at 7:15.
