SCHS Indians to face Watkinsville tonight in high school football

The Stephens County Indians will travel down to Watkinsville tonight to play the Oconee County Warriors in high school football.

Kickoff will be at 7:30.

The Indians come into tonight’s game with an overall record of 7 & 1 and in first place in Region 8-AAA with a region record of 3 & 0.

Last Friday night, Stephens County defeated Hart County in a home game, 30 to 14.

Oconee County enters tonight’s game with a 5 & 3 overall record and tied for second place in the region after their win last Friday over Monroe Area, 28 to 19.

Last year, the Warriors won a close game at The Reservation over the Indians, 16 to 7.

Last night on the Crunch Time radio show, Stephens County’s linebacker coach, Kirk Rogers, said he expects a tough game, and the Indian defense will face a good Oconee County offense.

Coverage on 93.1 FM and AM 630 WNEG starts tonight with the Indian Road Show at 6:30, followed by Coach’s Corner at 7 and pre-game at 7:15.

In the other Region 8-AAA games tonight, Franklin County will travel to Monroe Area and Hart County will be on the road at Hebron Christian.

Looking elsewhere around the area this evening, Habersham Central will host Apalachee, Banks County travels to Fellowship Christian, East Jackson will play at Providence Christian, Rabun County will host Commerce, White County will play at Pickens County, Madison County will host Walnut Grove, East Hall travels to North Oconee, and North Hall will host Cedar Shoals.
