SCHS Indians Boys Cross Country team finishes 17th at GHSA State Meet

The Stephens County High School Boys Cross Country team competed Friday at the GHSA State Meet in Carrollton.

The Indians made a strong showing finishing 17^TH out of 32 teams.

221 runners competed and Grady Sanders led the way for the Indian Runners with a 21^st place finish and a time of 17:42.

He was the top sophomore finisher in Class AAA.

River Duncan finished 67^th, Micah Burkhart 138^th, Matthew Viehweg 142^nd, Carter Willet 146^th, Austin Jones 175^th, and Dawson Jordan 181^st.

The team will be losing Seniors River Duncan and Matthew Viehweg, but the rest of the runners will be back next year.

Coach Chris Colwell says he hopes the team will build on the strong finish to this running season.
