SCHS Indians Boys Cross Country team finishes 17th at GHSA State Meet

The Stephens County High School Boys Cross Country team competed Friday at the GHSA State Meet in Carrollton.

The Indians made a strong showing finishing 17TH out of 32 teams.

221 runners competed and Grady Sanders led the way for the Indian Runners with a 21st place finish and a time of 17:42.

He was the top sophomore finisher in Class AAA.

River Duncan finished 67th, Micah Burkhart 138th, Matthew Viehweg 142nd, Carter Willet 146th, Austin Jones 175th, and Dawson Jordan 181st.

The team will be losing Seniors River Duncan and Matthew Viehweg, but the rest of the runners will be back next year.

Coach Chris Colwell says he hopes the team will build on the strong finish to this running season.
