SCHS Indians Baseball Team holds end of season banquet

The Stephens County Indians Baseball Team held their end of season banquet last week.  Cruz Mullinix was named the team’s Most Valuable Player and also picked up the Scholar Athlete Award.

Pitching award went to Ayden Garmon; Best Overall Offense was presented to Garrett Burgess; Best Defense Award went to Colby Fowler; and Coach’s Award was given to Dylan White.

Team Captain Awards were handed out to Jacob Pruitt, Ben Stowe, Ayden Garmon, and Cruz Mullinix.

The Indians had a good season making it to the second round of the state playoffs.

The 8-AAA All-Region Baseball Team was also announced last week—5 Indians made the team: Pitcher Ayden Garmon, Outfielder Colby Fowler, Infielders Ben Stowe and Garrett Burgess, and Utility Player Cruze Mullinix.

Two additional Indians were named Honorable Mention:  Grant Babbitt and Carson Worley.

Oconee County’s TL Saxson was named Region Player of the Year and Franklin County’s Lawson Gailey was named Region Pitcher of the Year.

Other Franklin County players making the team were:  Pitcher Miles Dodd, Outfielder Ty Peeples, Infielders Kayne Jinks and Dee Oliver, Catcher AJ Peeples and Honorable Mention Chandler Coulter.
