SCHS hires Brandon Rowland as new head wrestling coach

Stephens County High School has a new head wrestling coach.

Brandon Rowland was introduced to the team on Thursday.

He will take over the position from Cody Honeycutt who has been the Indians wrestling coach for the past 3 years.

Rowland will be coming to Stephens County from Towns County where he has been a teacher and coach for 9 years, the last 2 as the head wrestling coach.

He has a total of almost 20 years in high school coaching.

He says he wants to continue to build on the success that has already been achieved in the Indians’ wrestling program.

“I’ve seen the success here. When I was in Towns, we were at many tournaments with them (Stephens County High School). I’ve seen the successes here, and I’d really like to just build on that,” he said.

Coach Rowland will begin this summer at Stephens County High School as he directs the summer workout program.
