SCHS Competition Cheer Team heading to State Championship today

The Stephens County High School Competition Cheer team won the Region 8-AAA title last weekend and became the first cheer team in school history to be Back-to-Back Region Champs.

They defeated Hart, Franklin, Oconee, and Hebron Christian for the Region title.

The Lady Indians went on to finish 7th in sectionals and earned a bid to the state finals on Friday in Macon.

There were 26 teams competing for sectionals in AAA.

The Competition Cheerleaders will compete in the 3 p.m. session for the State Championship! Seniors Brooklynn Taylor and Harper Lecroy have helped lead this team to the state finals all 4 years.

The Lady Indians are coached by head coach Cathy Thornton and assistant coaches Whitney Roberson, Emily Morgan, and Kaitlan Prince.
