SCHD reschedules drive-thru flu clinic

The Stephens County Health Department has rescheduled its drive-thru flu clinic, originally scheduled for today, due to inclement weather.

The drive-thru flu clinic will now be held on Thursday, November 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stephens County Health Department.

The Health Department is located at 64 Boulevard, Suite 102, in Toccoa.

This year, the quadrivalent vaccine (four-in-one) will serve as the regular flu vaccine and will protect against four different strains of flu, both A and B strains of the influenza viruses.

The high-dose vaccine, which is also a quadrivalent vaccine, will be available for people 65 and older.

The flu vaccines are free to anyone who has Medicare, Medicaid, and most commercial insurances.

If you are self-pay, the flu shot is $30.

Again, the drive-thru flu clinic has been rescheduled for November 4, from 9:00 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stephens County Health Department.
