SCH upgrades Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Equipment

Stephens County Hospital continues to strive to better serve the people of Stephens County.

Recently, the hospital’s Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation department were able to update several pieces of exercise equipment and its monitoring system.

The new monitoring system has the ability to monitor a patient’s heart rate and rhythm without using multiple lead stickers; in fact, the patient attachment is less than half the size of the average monitoring system.

The new exercise equipment included a recumbent stepper, three upright bicycles and the lateral.

The recumbent stepper is a favorite for all, it is even wheel chair accessible.

The lateral is a brand new modality designed not only to provide an aerobic workout but to improve balance and stability.

The new equipment and monitoring system allows staff to adjust patient speeds and resistance during their workouts giving patients better results with their cardiac wellness.

The hospital was able to make these upgrades with patient donations.
