SCH receives Face Shield donation from Scotts Miracle-Gro

Rep. Doug Collins announced Monday that Scotts Miracle-Gro Company in coordination with the Georgia Urban Ag Council has donated over 10,000 face shields to five hospitals across Northeast Georgia.

These face shields he said Monday will help protect health care workers fighting on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the last several weeks, Collins has worked hand-in-hand with Scotts Miracle-Gro Company and the Georgia Urban Ag Council to facilitate the distribution of the face shields to Northeast Georgia Health System, Elbert Memorial Hospital, Union General Health System, Stephens County Hospital, and Fannin Regional Hospital.

Stephens County Hospital CEO Michael Hester said in a press release that Stephens County Hospital is very fortunate and extremely grateful to have received over 1,000 face shields donated by the Scott’s Miracle-Gro Company.

“These are high-quality face shields that are extremely durable. These face shields will be a blessing to our staff and community first responders (law enforcement, EMS, fire) and enable us to ensure their safety as we continue our daily fight against Covid-19. It will also help maintain the safety of our patients, residents of our personal care homes, and visitors. Thank you so much for your generosity and kindness.”

Stephens County Hospital runs two personal care homes: The Clary Care Center and The Wilkinson Center.
