SCH Orthopedics, SCHS Athletic Department hosted a Parent/Athlete Education Night

Stephens County Hospital Orthopedics and Stephens County High School Athletic Department hosted a Parent/Athlete Education Night last Thursday.

Dr. Robert Quick shared information about concussions in sports and the symptoms parents should watch for in their children.

Physician Assistant Julia Paolino spoke on the possibilities of sudden cardiac arrest in sports.

And Brian Hammon, Physician Assistant in Orthopedics, discussed the possibilities of heat stroke and the importance of hydrating properly before a game.

Coach Chuck King, SCHS Athletic Director, thanked Stephens County Hospital for their involvement.

He hopes to grow this event for future years so it will be beneficial for not just High School parents, but for Recreation Department Parents, and Middle School Parents as well.
