SCH opens drive-up COVID-19 testing site today

Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester announced on Tuesday that beginning today, April 29, the hospital will be opening a drive-up testing site on the hospital campus.

He says the testing site will be open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

This site is open to anyone who has a doctor’s order to be tested; however, if you do not have a doctor’s order, you will not be allowed to be tested at this location.

At this testing site, you will be asked to complete a registration and consent form. Please bring your ID and insurance cards.

Hester says Insurance companies have been instructed by the government to pay for COVID-19 testing at no cost to patients.

If you do not have insurance, Hester says, that is not a problem, the patient will not receive a bill.

Again, the hospital will begin screening people today through a new drive-up testing site on the campus of Stephens County Hospital from 9:00 a.m. until 3 p.m.
