SCH Extends Deadline for 40 percent savings

As an incentive to paying your hospital bills, since Jan. 18, the Stephens County Hospital has been offering a 40 percent discount to anyone who pays their medical bills in full.

In recent years, the Stephens County Hospital has offered its patients an incentive for paying their medical bills in full, typically by knocking 20 percent off the total bill.

However, this year, the hospital is offering a 40 percent discount.

The hospital had originally announced the deadline as Feb. 28; however, after careful consideration, the business administration at the hospital has decided to extend the deadline to April 30.

It is extremely rare, and often unheard of, for a hospital to offer such a large discount.

Stephens County Hospital’s Chief Executive Officer Roger Forgey told WNEG News how the hospital has in years past have offered a 20 percent discount; but never one as large as this.

Even if you have been making payments towards your bill, if you go ahead and pay off the remaining debt then you will also receive the discount.

Forgey continued to explain that due to the hardships both the community and the hospital has faced this past year, the business administration at the hospital were compelled to alleviate some of the financial stress off their patients.

Again, the new deadline to take advantage of this promotion is April 30.
