SCH continues to report 8 positive cases of COVID-19

Stephens County Hospital continues to report the number of COVID-19 cases that are being treated at its facilities throughout the county.

On Friday, the hospital reported 87 individuals had been tested for the virus; of those, eight have received positive test results, 75 received negative results, and four individuals are still awaiting their results.

According to Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester, the hospital is currently treating four patients for COVID-19, some of those patients were tested at Stephens County Hospital; however, others were tested at other healthcare facilities and were sent to Stephens County Hospital for treatment.

Stephens County Hospital Vice President of Physician Practices Van Loskoski says the hospital will continue to monitor COVID-19 at its facility.

He says after partnering with new labs to process test results, patients are now getting their result back sometimes as quickly as 24 hours.
