SCH continues drive-up testing site for COVID-19

Stephens County Hospital will again be offering drive-up testing for COVID-19.

According to Stephens County Hospital Chief Executive Officer Mike Hester, the drive-up testing site is open today from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

He says the testing site will continue to operate Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, each week from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The site is open to anyone who has a doctor’s order to be tested for COVID-19; but, if you do not have a doctor’s order, you will not be allowed to be tested at this location.

He says in order for the hospital to receive payment from the insurance companies, every patient must have a doctor’s order to be tested.

At this testing site, you will be asked to complete a registration and consent form. Please bring your ID and insurance cards.

Hester says Insurance companies have been instructed by the government to pay for COVID-19 testing at no cost to patients.

If you do not have insurance, Hester says, that is not a problem, the patient will not receive a bill.

Again, the hospital will be screening people today through its new drive-up testing site on the campus of Stephens County Hospital from 9:00 a.m. until 3 p.m.
