SCH Auxiliary purchase over $48K in hospital equipment during Love Light Campaign

The Love Light Tree was lit Thursday night at Stephens County Hospital in Toccoa.

This year marks the 38th anniversary of the Love Light Campaign and Tree Lighting Ceremony. Since its inaugural event, the Auxiliary has purchased over $742,000 in hospital equipment through the Love Light Campaign.

During the 2019 Campaign, the Auxiliary was able to purchase $48,318.74 in equipment for the hospital.

This year’s Love Light Ceremony was in honor of Dr. Stephen Pinkerton for his hard work and dedication to Stephens County Hospital.

Pinkerton thanked the Auxiliary for their countless volunteer hours and continued support of the hospital.

Stephens County Hospital Foundation Director Pamela Jones told WNEG News that the auxiliary had raised over $48,000 in 2019.

Love Light Committee Chair Joyce Gregory presented the following gifts:

The Cardiopulmonary Rehab Department received a handheld Doppler and new seats for its exercise equipment. The Emergency Department received a handheld Doppler, Surface Pro Business Tablets, and a Spot Monitor and Stand. EMS received Garmin GPS Units, Intubation Kits, and a Pediatric Jump Kit. The Laboratory received chairs and stools, and a Cytotherm Plasma Thawer.

Patient Access received scanners and desk chairs. Patient Financial Services received desk chairs. Personal Care Homes received an automatic floor scrubber. Radiology received an I-Stat Analyzer Upgrade. Respiratory received a Bi-PAP/CPAP Breathing Device. Southern Rehab Services received a Golvo Mobile Lift.

Staff Development and Education received education manikins and equipment. Swing Bed Unit received an electric lift shower chair and two-position lift chairs. WorkWell Occupational Medicine received a 4D Medical UV Light Magnifier and a Clinitek Stats Plus Analyzer Rx.

Following Gregory’s presentation, Pinkerton alongside Jones, lit the Love Light Tree.
