SCBOE reminds parents to complete reopening survey by today’s deadline

The Stephens County Board of Education is reminding parents who have yet to complete the reopening survey that the deadline to submit the survey is today at 12:00 noon.

During the Board of Education meeting last week, School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Oldham announced that in order for the school system to better prepare for reopening schools it is critical that parents complete the survey.

On Thursday, Oldham said the school system had received around 2,000 completed surveys.

The survey was sent to parents through email and text messages; however, for anyone that did not receive the survey through those means, can go to the Stephens County Schools website and complete the survey there.

Parents with multiple students should complete the survey for each child to provide the school system feedback specific to each student.

According to Oldham, at the end of the survey, if you selected for your child to begin school virtually, you will be asked to complete the virtual school application.

Again, if you have multiple children in the school system you need to complete the survey and application for each child.

Oldham adds that if you are a parent who is unable to complete the online survey, you should contact the Central Enrollment Office by calling 706-898-5117.

An appointment will be set for you to come in and complete the survey between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Schools in Stephens County are scheduled to reopen on August 5.

The Board of Education will meet today at 5:00 p.m. for its regular scheduled meeting, during which, the board will discuss the survey results and their tentative plan for reopening schools.

WNEG News will continue to follow the Board of Education’s plan for reopening schools.
