SCBOE holds second reading, public hearing for proposed FY22 Budget

The Stephens County Board of Education held the second budget hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 Budget on Tuesday.

According to Stephens County School Superintendent Dr. Daniel Oldham the tentative budget totals $38,691,229.

The proposed budget includes $10,089,182 in estimated revenue from local property taxes, $25,421,547 from State Sources, $1,196,500 in Other Local Sources, $554,000 from State Grants and other sources, and $1,430,00 from federal funds.

The proposed budget includes $26,591,394 in estimated expenditures for instruction, $1,960,510 for pupil services, $1,298,488 for improvement of instruction, $140,000 for instructional staff training, $408,598 for education media, $878,308 for general administration among other expenses that make up a grand total of $38,691,229.

Following the second public hearing, the Board of Education adopted the budget for Fiscal Year 2022.

Fiscal Year 2022 begins July 1, 2021.
