SCBOE fill 3 leadership positions

The three vacant administration positions for academic year 2019-20 have been filled.

During the recent Stephens County Board of Education meeting, the board voted and approved the HR Report which included the three new administrators.

Stephens County School Superintendent Bryan Dorsey says the board is eager to begin working with the new administrators.

Daniel Oldham will fill the Deputy Superintendent position following the resignation of former Deputy Superintendent Terri Powers.

Paul DeFoor will fill the Principal position at Stephens County Middle School following the resignation of Principal Michael Shawler.

Stephens County High School Assistant Principal Michael Keown will fill the Principal position following the resignation of Principal Scott Kersh.

All three will begin their new roles on July 1, 2019.

In other business, the BOE approved a $15,000 purchase.

The approved purchase is for a pre-owned Toro 3500D Rotary Finish Mower from Greenville Turf & Tractor.

According to Dorsey the mower will be used to maintain the athletic fields in the school system.
