SCBOC Meets Tonight, Considers Amnesty Day Schedule

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. today for a regularly scheduled meeting. The meeting will take place at the Historic Courthouse, 37 West Tugalo Street in Toccoa.

On the agenda for the meeting is consideration of a Conditional Use Request to allow a tree nursery on a property currently zoned residential single on Rock Quarry Circle.

Commissioners will also consider an appointment of an individual to serve on the Stephens County Planning Commission for a term ending March 31, 2029. Commissioners are also scheduled to discuss the scope of work needed on Dortch Road and vote on approval of the expenditure. 

Other items on the agenda include consideration of a motion to declare Saturday, April 13 as Amnesty Day and authorize double time pay for road workers for the event, and a discussion of a proposal for the purchase of Overdose Response Kits from Self-Discovery 24 using Opioid Settlement funds.
