SCBC will meet in the Mitchell Allen Room for today’s meeting

As a reminder, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners meeting location has changed.

Today the commission will meet in the Mitchell Allen Room at the Toccoa Train Depot instead of the Historic Courthouse.

The meeting will begin promptly at 8:30 a.m.

As WNEG News previously reported, the change in venue is due to early voting being held in the Historic Courthouse where the Commission normally meets.

The meeting will start with the recognition of the Employee of the Month—one of the new initiatives started under Chairman James Addison’s leadership.

The Board will hold a public hearing for the second reading of a new alcohol license for Lucky Food Mart.

Under old business, the Commission will consider motions to rescind approval of Johnson Control Invoices for $13,318.03 and $18,800 contingent upon complete system analysis which were both originally approved on February 22, 2022.

Under new business, the Commission will consider a motion to authorize County Administrator Phyllis Ayers to sign the Stephens County Courthouse HVAC upgrades proposal to be paid for out of SPLOST VII Funds.

A motion to approve Fiscal Year 2022 Budget Amendments for Public Works, and American Rescue Plan Act.

A motion to consider a lease agreement with Terry Graham Development, LLC for the property located at 150 West Tugalo Street for a one-year lease with option to extend for one year.

A motion to enter into a contract for purchase or real estate with Jimmy F. Keesee and Kathy I. Keesee for the property located at 36 Mize Road, in Toccoa in the amount of $450,000 using funds from the American Rescue Plan Act.

A motion to award or deny the building inspection and permitting services bid.

Again, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet today at 8:30 a.m. in the Mitchell Allen Room at the Toccoa Train Depot.
