SCBC will hold public hearing, first reading of proposed FY22 Budget

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday for its regular scheduled meeting.

During which, the board will hold the first reading and public hearing for the proposed Fiscal Year 2022 Budget.

As WNEG News previously reported, the proposed budget was presented to the board by County Administrator Phyllis Ayers at the last meeting in May.

She says the budget does not include a millage rate increase for Stephens County residents.

In other business, the board will consider a motion to approve a work detail agreement with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Office for one calendar year.

The board will also consider nominations for the Board of Elections and Registration for Stephens County.

Those nominations include Lori McAvoy from the Stephens County Republican Party and Sean Black from the Stephens County Democratic Committee to serve two-year terms beginning on July 1.

The board will also consider selecting three nominees for the at-large seats on the Board of Elections and Registration for Stephens County.

Again, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. inside the Stephens County Historical Courthouse.

As a reminder, the Stephens County Board of Commissioners no longer offer residents an option to attend the meetings virtually.
