SCBC, TCC hire Animal Control Officer, all animal issues now handled by Stephens County Marshal’s Office

The City of Toccoa and Stephens County governments have hired an Animal Control Officer.

Towards the end of last year, both the Stephens County Board of Commissioners and Toccoa City Commission approved an intergovernmental agreement to hire an Animal Control Officer.

The agreement authorized the County to advertise and hire an Animal Control Officer with POST Certification, who will report to the Stephens County Marshal.

All calls regarding animal issues in Stephens County, including the City of Toccoa, are now being handled by the Stephens County Marshal’s Office.
