SCBC submit 2020 LMIG application to resurface Davis Road and Meadow Brook Drive

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners recently approved a motion authorizing County Administrator Phyllis Ayers to sign the 2020 Local Maintenance Improvement Grant (LMIG) Application.

During its meeting, last week, Ayers presented the board with information regarding the forthcoming LMIG application.

“This has always been prepared by Keith Canup…and as you will see in our letter the total committed funds will be $660,292 and we will be submitting Davis Road and Meadow Brook Drive as our 2020 LMIG,” Ayes said.

As Ayers said, Stephens County will receive just slightly over $660,000.

The two roads are expected to be resurfaced by the end of 2020.

In other business, the Commission approved a motion to submit the county’s Local Road Activity List to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

According to Ayers, G-DOT requires the county to submit any changes that occur to its list of maintained roads.

The commission approved both motions unanimously.
