SCBC awards bid to Bliss Products to construct Outdoor Sensory Playground

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners awarded the bid for the outdoor sensory playground.

The decision was made on Tuesday, during the commission’s regular scheduled meeting.

County Administrator Phyllis Ayers says the county received two separate bids with one bidder offering two different renderings and plans.

Ultimately, the commission awarded the project to Bliss Products in the amount of $699,000.

Bliss Products will complete the outdoor sensory playground, accessory equipment, and restroom.

Commissioner Michelle Ivester says this project has been in the works for several years now and she received student input for the playground.

“This will be an inclusive playground for every child in Stephens County,” she said.

Ivester made a motion awarding the bid to Bliss Products with Commissioner Debbie Whitlock seconding the motion.

The motion was approved 4-0 with Vice Chair Dennis Bell being absent.
