SCBC approves motion to list greenhouse as surplus
The Stephens County Board of Commissioners met last week for its regular scheduled meeting.
During the meeting, the Commission made a motion to declare the greenhouse at the Stephens County Senior Center as surplus and sell by sealed bid process.
County Administrator Phyllis Ayers explained that the greenhouse was for a program the county had started several years ago that never gained traction.
Commissioner Debbie Whitlock says she remembers when they originally had the idea for the greenhouse; but didn’t remember the cost.
The group added that it was purchased through a grant.
Commissioner Dean Scarborough made a motion approving the greenhouse be added to the surplus list with Commissioner Michelle Ivester seconding the motion.
The motion was approved unanimously.
