SCBC approves expense to hire Dominion for election support

The Stephens County Board of Commissioners have agreed to pay $17,000 for a company to assist in the upcoming election.

According to County Administrator Phyllis Ayers, Dominion Voting will come assist the Elections Office for Logic and Accuracy testing and a during a week of voting.

“That would be two weeks of Dominion coming on site. You can see how expensive they are. It’s actually $2,000 a day; but if you chose a two-week period you got a discount for $8,500 a week instead of $10,000. We just picked the two weeks that we felt were the most important. That’s one week of L&A Support and one week of actual election support, as there is no one in the office that knows how to use the machines,” she said.

For questions regarding the upcoming election contact the Stephens County Elections Office by calling 706-886-8954.
