SCBC Approve Variance Requests

The Stephens County Board of Directors approved several variance requests during last week’s meeting.

The first variance request came from James Cantrell, located at 68 Pace Road, Toccoa, his property is currently zoned as residential single family; however, the proposed action was to grant a lot size variance of less than one acre.

The second request issued by Wendell and Pauline McFarlin, of 6214 Mize Road, Toccoa, the proposed action would be to grant a variance allowing the McFarlins to place a mobile home on the lot with existing home.

The third request was a conditional use request came from petitioner Mark Smith, of Eastanollee, on behalf of property owner Randy Fisher, at 330 Clarks Creek Road.

Smith’s requested a conditional use variance to build two layer-poultry houses.

All three requests were approved by the commissioners 4-0 with Commissioner Stanley London being absent.
