SC Grand Jury hands down indictments on Aug. 28

The Stephens County Grand Jury, on August 28, handed down indictments of 29 individuals in the Superior Court of Stephens County.

Clarence Nicky Willis was indicted on one count of aggravated assault.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on December 12, 2019, when Willis allegedly pointed a handgun at another individual.

 

Timothy Harold Dilbeck was indicted on one count of second degree criminal damage to property.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on April 17, 2021, when Dilbeck allegedly cut residential cable and telephone wiring at an address on Highland Avenue in Toccoa that belonged to another individual, without said owner’s consent. Damages exceeded $500. 

 

Kenneth Lee Brown was indicted on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, one count possession of methamphetamine, and one count possession of drug-related objects.

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on November 26, 2022, when Brown allegedly was in possession of methamphetamine, a non-narcotic schedule II controlled substance, with the intent to distribute, and allegedly was in possession of more than 2 grams, but less than 4 grams, of methamphetamine, along with a pipe intended to be used for inhaling methamphetamine.

 

Ieshia Chantavia Thornton was indicted on one count of aggravated assault.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about January 17, 2021, when Thornton allegedly stabbed a male individual in the back with a knife, resulting in serious bodily injury. 

 

Andrew Franklin Ponton was indicted on one count of fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, one count of reckless driving, one count of speeding, one count of failure to maintain lane and one count disregarding a traffic control device. 

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on November 1, 2021, when Ponton allegedly was opening his vehicle in excess of 20 miles per hour above the posted speed limit and fled a pursuing police vehicle, refusing to stop. Ponton allegedly drove the 2009 Hyundai Genesis at a high rate of speed in a reckless manner, ran a stoplight at the intersection of Highway 17 and Highway 17 Alternate, and lost control of the vehicle, causing the vehicle to crash.

 

Sandro Rafael Rodriguez was indicted on three counts of aggravated assault and one count of simple battery.

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on or about October 10, 2022, when Rodriguez allegedly wielded a hatchet while threatening a female individual, pointed a pistol at the same female, and allegedly struck the face of a male individual and attempted to strike the male with a hatchet. 

 

Christopher Anthony Savage was indicted on one count of aggravated assault.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about September 13, 2022, when Savage allegedly intentionally and offensively struck a person with a motor vehicle that Savage was driving. 

 

Andrew Thomas Epps was indicted on one count of aggravated battery.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about November 23, 2021, when Epps allegedly struck a male individual maliciously, rendering the victim’s nose and orbital socket useless. 

 

Andrew Joshua Robert Sanders was indicted on one count of aggravated assault and one count cruelty to children in the first degree.

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on or about May 4, 2021, when Sanders allegedly pointed a handgun at a female individual and allegedly struck a female child under the age of 18 maliciously, leaving a bruise on the child’s lower back. 

 

Patience Abercrombie, Quanace Untravius Abercrombie and Reginald Bernard Gallman were indicted, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime, on one count of theft by shoplifting.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about May 10, 2023, when the three allegedly took merchandise with a value exceeding $500 from Harbor Freight without paying the merchandise. 

 

Roger David Jones was indicted on one count of child molestation and one count of sexual battery against a child under the age of 16.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred between November 9, 2019 and November 9, 2020, when Jones touched a female under the age of 16 below the waist in a sexual manner with his hand, and an incident on November 8, 2020, allegedly touched a female under the age of 16 on her inner thighs and buttocks without her consent.

 

Jonathan Colt Gibby was indicted on two counts of cruelty to children in the first degree. 

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on or about August 28, 2022, when Gibby allegedly struck the head and back of a female under the age of 18 and allegedly struck the leg of another female under the age of 18, causing cruel and excessive physical and mental pain to each victim. 

 

Kimberly Dawn Shedd was indicted on one count of obstruction of an officer.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about April 30, 2021, when Shedd allegedly resisted an officer of the law in the discharge of his duties by kicking the officer in the groin area. 

 

Albert Antwion Sertain was indicted on one count of cruelty to children in the second degree.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about June 5, 2021 when Sertain, with criminal negligence, allegedly hit a male child under the age of 18 in the head with his fist, causing the victim excessive physical and mental pain.

 

Nicholas Levor Harrison and Stephanie Mull McCall were indicted, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime, on one count of armed robbery, one count of aggravated assault, one count of violation of the Street Gang Terrorism and Prevention Act, and one county of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. 

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about July 7 when convicted felon (2010/statutory rape) Harrison, allegedly associated with the criminal street gang Gangster Disciples,  allegedly pointed a handgun at an individual in a threatening manner and committed armed robbery with the intent to obtain, maintain or increase his status in said gang , and an incident on  or about July 8, 2023, when Harrison and McCall took money belonging to Gati’s Gifts from an individual by the use of a handgun-type object having the appearance of a weapon.  

 

Shelly Amanda Smith was indicted on one count of theft by shoplifting.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about July 29, 2023, when Smith allegedly took merchandise valued above $500 from Walmart without paying for the merchandise.

 

James Daniel Taylor was indicted on six counts of sexual exploitation of children.

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on or about December 6, 2022, when Taylor allegedly distributed  explicit digital images of female toddlers and minors engaged in sexual interaction with adult males 

 

Jeremy Shane Griffin was indicted on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about June 19, 2021, when Griffin allegedly  was in possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine with the intent to distribute. 

 

Bryson Pernell Williams was indicted on one count of aggravated stalking.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about June 1, 2023, when Williams allegedly contacted a female without consent of the female, for the purpose of harassment and intimidation, in violation of a condition of pretrial release.  

 

Dustin Calob Tucker was indicted on one count of enticing a child for indecent purposes and one count of statutory rape.

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred between March 6 and June 25, 2023, when Tucker allegedly took a female child under the age of 16 to Jenkins Ferry Boat Ramp for the purpose of indecent acts and had sexual intercourse with the minor female. 

 

Earl Joseph Griffin was indicted on one count of battery, family violence, and one count of criminal trespass. 

According to the indictment, the charges stem from an incident that occurred on or about May 9, 2022 when Griffin allegedly grabbed his female spouse by her arm, leaving bruises, and grabbed her around her throat and choked her, and allegedly kicked cabinetry in the travel trailer belonging to another female individual, causing damage valued at less than $500.

 

Stormy Martin Brasher and Peter Jay Moses, were indicted, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime,  on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute.

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about May 14, 2021, when Brasher and Moses were allegedly in possession of the controlled substance methamphetamine, with the intent to distribute. 

 

Zeddron Demario Allen and Johnny Rodrickus Jones, were indicted, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime,  on one count of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana with intent to distribute and one count possession of marijuana. 

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about January 11, 2022, when Jones allegedly was in possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute and both Jones and Allen were in possession of less than an ounce of marijuana 

 

Dalton Wayne Wheeler was indicted on one count of possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, one count of possession of a firearm during the commision of a felony. 

According to the indictment, the charge stems from an incident that occurred on or about July 28, 2022 when Wheeler allegedly was in possession of the controlled substance, methamphetamine, a schedule II controlled substance, with the intent to distribute – a felony charge. Wheeler was allegedly in possession of a firearm at the time of the alleged possession.
