Sarah Patricia “Pat” Kay

Daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother – a woman who loved well and was well loved; Sarah Patricia “Pat” Kay, better known as Memaw, slipped away on Saturday, April 27, 2024.

 

Pat was the oldest of five children born on January 18, 1940 to the late Nish and Effie Fowler in Franklin County, Georgia.

 

Pat was a strong woman of faith, was a member of Martin Baptist Church, absolutely loved working in the garden and fishing.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of sixty-five years, Marvin Kay; her daughter, Beverly Kay Turner; her son, Tracy Kay; and her sister, Gail Finley.

 

She is survived by her brother, Marshall Fowler of Durham, NC; two sisters, Gladys Harris of Campabello, SC and Brenda Peace of Ocala, FL; her daughter, Sara Juanita Weber of Lynnville, TN; three granddaughters, Cindy Mitchell of Martin, GA, Dedra Campbell of Spring Hill, TN, Estelle Alexander of Anderson, SC; three grandsons, Christopher Walker of Lynnville, TN, Joshua “Nish” Kay of Toccoa, GA, Alex Weber of Knoxville, TN; fifteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren and one that’s due in July.

 

The family will receive friends at the mortuary from 12pm until 1:45pm on Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

 

Funeral services will be held at two o’clock Tuesday, April 30, 2024 from the Chapel of Whitlock Mortuary with Pastor Brennan Gatewood officiating.

 

Burial will follow at Roselane Cemetery.

 

Christopher Walker, Nish Kay, Dylan Mitchell, Joshua Mitchell, Brady York and Quentin Mitchell will serve as pallbearers.

 

Flowers are optional.  Memorial donations may be made to Martin Baptist Church, 751 Red Hollow Road, Martin, GA  30557, or to the family to assist with funeral expenses.
