Sample Ballot available for November 8th election

The Stephens County Elections Office has released the sample ballot for the upcoming November 8th election. The ballot includes several local and state races.

For United States Senate, residents will vote between Republican Herschel Junior Walker, Incumbent Democrat Raphael Warnock, and Libertarian Chase Oliver.

For Governor, voters will choose from Incumbent Republican Brian Kemp, Democrat Stacey Abrams, and Libertarian Shane Hazel.

For Lieutenant Governor, Republican Burt Jones is vying against Democrat Charlie Bailey and Libertarian Ryan Graham.

For Secretary of State, Incumbent Republican Brad Raffensperger is competing against Democrat Bee Nguyen and Libertarian Ted Metz.

For Attorney General, Incumbent Republican Chris Carr is vying against Democrat Jennifer Jordan and Libertarian Martin Cowen.

For Commissioner of Agriculture, voters will choose from Republican Tyler Harper, Democrat Nakita Hemingway, and Libertarian David Raudabaugh.

For Commissioner of Insurance, Incumbent Republican John King is vying against Democrat Janice Laws Robinson.

For State School Superintendent, Incumbent Republican Richard Woods is challenged by Democrat Alisha Thomas Searcy.

For Commissioner of Labor, voters will pick from Republican Bruce Thompson, Democrat William Boddie Jr. and Libertarian Emily Anderson.

For United States House of Representatives District 9, Incumbent Republican Andrew Clyde is vying against Democrat Michael Ford.

Incumbent Republican Bo Hatchett is vying against Democrat Paulette Williams for State Senate District 50.

For Stephens County Board of Commissioners Post 1, Republican Tara Simmons is vying against Democrat Kathy Pauly.

For Stephens County Board of Education District 2 Post 2, Incumbent Republican Travis Dobbs is competing against Democrat Shantelle Grant.

Voters will also consider two Proposed Constitutional Amendments. The first amendment provides for suspension of compensation of certain State Officers and members of the General Assembly. The second amendment provides for temporary local tax relief after disasters.

Additionally, voters will consider two Statewide Referendum Questions. The first provides for ad valorem tax exemption for certain timber production, reforestation, and harvesting equipment. The second expands ad valorem tax exemption for family-owned farms and adds qualified products to the exemption.
