Salvation Army plans to reopen Family Store

The Salvation Army Service Center has announced its plans to re-open its Family Store, located at 692 Big A Road.

According to Salvation Army-Toccoa Service Center Director Rebecca Dixon, the Family Store will re-open on Monday, May 18 with a reduced schedule of Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each day.

Dixon says customers are advised that they will limit the number of persons inside the store at one time and that each customer is asked to sanitize their hands upon entry.

She adds that masks are encouraged and if a customer is sick with any symptoms of COVID-19, they are asked not to enter.

For anyone wishing to drop off donations at the Salvation Army Family Store, donations will be accepted from 11:00 a.m. until 2 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

Dixon says once donations are accepted, staff must place the donations in quarantine for a period of time before being moved to the sales floor.

Additionally, Dixon reminds the community that the Salvation Army Service Center, located at 306 East Franklin Street, in Toccoa, will remain closed to the public until further notice; however, she says food distribution continues to be available at the Service Center on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. until 12 p.m.

Anyone with questions regarding the re-opening of the Salvation Army Family Store is asked to contact Dixon by emailing her at [email protected].
