Royston man charged with improper student contact in Banks County

A Royston man is facing multiple charges in Banks County of having improper sexual relations with a student at East Jackson High School.

According to Banks County Sheriff Carlton Speed, 29-year old Michael Lee Stanley is charged with four counts of first degree improper sexual contact by an employee of a school.

Stanley was employed at the school as a para professional and assistant basketball coach.

Speed said the incidents were reported to have occurred in Banks County and involved a female high school student.

Stanley was arrested January 15th by Banks County investigators.

He has since been released on a $20,000 bond.

Sheriff Speed said the investigation is ongoing.
