Royston Burglary Arrest

In a case of neighbors looking out for neighbors, last Tuesday, August 29th Royston Police was dispatched to a residence on Baker Street in Royston in reference to a neighbor witnessing someone entering a residence while the homeowner was away. Chief Donnie Bolemon and three others from the department arrived on the scene and surrounded the residence. Once all officers were in place, Officers were sent into the residence to extract the suspect. Upon entering the residence they noticed the door frame was busted and damaged. Officers immediately made contact with the suspect while he was standing in the kitchen area of the home. The suspect complied with the officer’s commands and he was taken into custody without any further incidents.

Rashaud Terrell Williams was arrested and charged with multiple burglary counts and one count of criminal attempt. According to the police report, when officers placed Williams under arrest he made the statement “I’m Done”. Williams was also charged with a burglary that previously occurred on Baker Street on August 7th along with the criminal attempt charge.

The Royston Police Department says they are thankful for the partnership they have with the citizens of the community, and due to the diligent observation by a neighbor, and notifying 911, the suspect was captured inside the residence before the homeowners items were destroyed or stolen.
