Rotary makes donations to Hope Center, Food2Kids

On Dec. 5, during the organization’s weekly meeting at Gate Cottage on the campus of Toccoa Falls College, the Toccoa Rotary Club made donations to the Hope Center of Toccoa and Stephens County Food2Kids.

Each organization was presented with a $5,000 check from the Toccoa Rotary Club to help with their local efforts on behalf of those in need locally.

The funds were raised through the support of sponsors and participants at the Toccoa Rotary Car Show on October 21.

Rotary President Leon Womack explained that supporting non charity organizations is part of the mission of the Rotary Club, and that the donations help people right here in this community.

Lucy Davis with Food2Kids said thank you for the support from the community for the organization, which helps address food insecurity for local youths and said they are always grateful for donated food items as well as funding.

Hope Center’s Steve Paysen said the funds will help people find their way home.
