Rotary Club of Toccoa Celebrates SCHS Top 5 Seniors

The Rotary Club of Toccoa held the Top Five Banquet last night at the Georgia Baptist Conference Center.

The event is to honor the top five percent in grade point average for graduating seniors at Stephens County High School.

This year’s top five included 12 seniors: Caleb Alexander, Andi Brock, Christopher Carringer, Dawson Dean, Alaina King, Krystina Littleton, Natalie Morgan, Denvi Patel, Erin Ritchey, Hannah Watkins, Andrew Whitlock, and Cassidy Zheng.

Also honored at the banquet were the top five students academically in grades 6-11.

The guest speaker of the night was North Georgia Technical College President Mark Ivester.

Ivester provided the seniors tips on how to make a career, reminding each student to remember where they’re from.

Rotary Club of Toccoa President Anne Shurley told WNEG News how proud the Rotarians are of each student and their accomplishments.

“The Rotary Club of Toccoa is very proud of these students and their accomplishments,” Shurley said.

Each year, the Rotary Club of Toccoa awards the top five percent of graduating seniors with $1,000 scholarships to apply to their education.
