By MJ Kneiser, WLHR

White County Director of Emergency Management David L. Murphy, Jr reports a compromised lake dam off Dean Mtn Road is being watched as a precautionary measure.

On the White County Facebook page, Murphy said if a failure occurs the water will go through a valley area to the river.

He said some homes have been evacuated as a precautionary measure.

WNEG News has learned that all of the residents of the Riverside RV Park off Dean Mountain Road, have been evacuated as of Sunday evening.

The RV park is located below the lake and sits along the Chattahoochee River.

A resident of the park tells WNEG News they may not be allowed back in their homes until Thursday.

Early Sunday morning, water from the river backed up into the park’s drainage system and flooded the roads.

Those who could were able to pull their RV’s out of the park.

Others with more permanent homes are staying in hotels and with friends and relatives.
