Reins of Life Holds Ribbon Cutting for new Location

Reins of Life held a ribbon cutting yesterday at their new location.

Founder and Director of Reins of Life Cheryl Harris told WNEG News what Reins of Life is and how they serve the community.

“REins of Life is a non-profit, faith based ministry that serves anybody with disabilities or handicaps,” said Harris. “We also serve able bodied people with horse camps and other programs as well but our primary mission is to serve those who have need of our service.”

Their new location is at 1238 Silver Shoals Road and includes new amenities for the organization to use. Harris said they had the ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the new buildings.

“We’re having the ribbon cutting to celebrate the fact that after three years, we’re finally done building,” said Harris. “We’ve built barns, fences, arenas and pavilions and all kinds of things. So we are finally done and we really wanted to celebrate that with the community.”

The types of programs that Reins of Life offers include hippotherapy, equine assisted learning, school based programs, riding lessons, ropes course and a summer horse camp.

Harris and her husband founded this organization after fostering children for fifteen years and seeing the shortage of quality intervention programs in the area.

Harris said that they are very thankful for all the support they receive.

“We really value people who support us financially and with their prayers,” said Harris. “We love it when people support us in their faith because that’s what keeps us going.”
