Recent Rabun Co Fire ruled Arson

A recent Rabun County Fire has been ruled arson.

According to Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John F. King, the fire occurred at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, December 1, heavily damaging at home at 1359 Camp Creek Road in Tiger.

King says the 2,600 square foot home was roughly 20 years old and had been converted into a unit with four apartments.

Everyone inside the building during the fire was able to escape.

He says his investigators believe the fire started in the basement.

King is encouraging any resident of Rabun County or the surrounding area with any information regarding the fire to contact his State Fire Investigation Unit by calling 1-800-252-5804.

He says you can remain anonymous when providing any tip.
