Rebels Take 3 of 4 from Habersham

The Stephens County Middle School Rebels Basketball teams took 3 of 4 over Habersham Middle School Monday at SCMS.

The Rebels 7th grade boys remain undefeated now 5-0 with a 55-33 win over previously undefeated Habersham County. Javin Gordon and Tripp Underwood had 14 points each to lead a balanced scoring attack. The Rebels also got 8 points from Semaj Walker, Brock tanersley had 7, Kyle Oglesby 5, Jet Black and Andrew Keown 3 each and 1 from Jonah Swinton.

Jasiah McCurry led Habersham with a game high 15 points.

The Rebels 8th grade boys improved to 4-1 with a 40-27 win over Habersham. The Rebels trailed by 10 points at the half, but battled back for the win. Aaron Scott had 18 points to lead the Rebels and Colby Fowler was also in double digits with 10 points. The Rebels also got scoring from Nuri Waters with 5 points, Ethan Smith 4, Khalid Floyd 2 and Devin Cobb 1.

The 8th grade Lady Rebels moved to 3-2 on the season with a 29-19 win over Habersham. Dariyah Bell led SCMS with 11 points, Samiea Scott added 8, Tytiunna Tukes and Kaitlyn Cangelosi 4 each, and Jaziya Harbin 2.

The 7th grade Lady Rebels fell 36-20 to Habersham despite 14 points from Lanesia Verdell. The 7th grade Lady Rebels are now 2-3.

The Stephens County Middle School Basketball teams return to action Thursday when they host Madison County. Games will begin at 4:30 P.M.
